WESTON'S
ART HOUSE
ABOUT
The Blakehay is Weston-super-Mare’s local stage with a big heart. We’re here to spark joy, curiosity and connection, one unforgettable night at a time.
Built in 1850 and reborn as a theatre in the 1980s, the Blakehay has always belonged to its people. Under new independent management, we’re entering a bold new chapter: one that puts community, creativity and culture at the centre of everything we do.
You might come to the Blakehay for a gig, a laugh, a glass of something lovely, or just a great night out, and you'll find more than you expect. From household names to fresh local talent, big ideas to tiny triumphs, we champion the kind of events that make you feel something. And we do it all with a proper West Country welcome.

OUR MISSION
To bring people together through live performance, shared experiences and cultural celebration.
We create space for everyone to belong, as audience members, performers, volunteers, collaborators or neighbours.
We believe the arts should be bold, joyful, inclusive, and available to all, not just the few. So we keep our programme mixed and meaningful, with affordable tickets, accessible spaces, and a genuine commitment to community.
As we look ahead, we’re expanding our family and learning programmes, growing our music and comedy nights, and building partnerships that put Weston on the cultural map, without ever losing that close-knit, local feel.
The Blakehay is run by a small team of passionate professionals and supported by volunteers, trustees and creative collaborators who believe in Weston’s creative future. The venue is operated by the Blakehay Theatre CIO, a registered charity.
Come visit, volunteer, or get in touch, we’d love to welcome you.
