OUR SHOWS ARE FOR EVERYONE!
BOOKING ACCESS TICKETS
You can book tickets online or by visiting or calling Weston Museum, or the Weston-super-Mare Town Council Offices. The main house has four dedicated Wheelchair spaces in Row A. These are blue padded removable seats and so can be removed or transferred into if needed.
All of our wheelchair spaces have a companion seat next to them so that you don’t need to sit on your own. alternatively, if you have mobility issues, all of our seats in Row A are flat access and seats in Row B have one step up.
Unfortunately any events in our Studios/Studio Theatre do not have access and are accessed by two flights of stairs.
If you’d like to let us know of any additional requirements, would like more details about our venue or the show, or simply want to chat about your needs, please contact the theatre directly at blakehay@wsm-tc.gov.uk or call 01934 645493
COMPANION TICKET POLICY
The theatre operates mainly on a Hire basis and so companies set their own ticket prices and policies for tickets. Therefore not all shows have a companion/carers ticket, however any that do will have this advertised within the event.
FACILITIES FOR BABIES & CHILDREN
The theatre has a baby changing facility in the disabled toilet, and we are breastfeeding friendly. All children under the age of two are free of charge, unless stated otherwise, but please come to the box office on arrival for a special ‘Babes in Arms’ ticket before going into any ticketed event.
Please note that prams and pushchairs are not permitted into the main house or studio theatre unless previously agreed with the theatre, and a wheelchair space is available. These can be stored, if folded, in the theatre foyer during performances.
ACCESSIBILTY
Everyone is welcome at the Blakehay and we will do whatever we can to ensure you have an enjoyable visit. Staff are always available to help, so please ask us if you need assistance especially if you are unsure in an emergency evacuation. Unfortunately the theatre does not have a hearing aid induction loop installed. To ensure any special requirements you have are met, we ask that all patrons who use a wheelchair or have specific seating or access questions/requests, contact the the theatre directly.
WHEELCHAIR ACCESS – MAIN HOUSE
The theatre has ramped access into the foyer, box office and theatre bar and level access into the main house, where up to four wheelchair users can be accommodated with seating for a friend next to you. RELAXED PERFORMANCES
Relaxed Performances are open to everyone but particularly support people with additional needs. They are primarily designed to support people with autism, learning difficulties, or other sensory and communication needs by providing a more relaxed environment in which to experience a show.
At a Relaxed Performance it’s OK to move around, make noise or to leave the auditorium.
For the performance itself, we make the house lights a little brighter, soften any loud and surprising noises and remove or amend any moments of audience interaction.
There is free on street car parking available around the theatre from 6pm. Please note this does get busy and so it is advised to arrive early. For sat nav information the post code is BS23 1JZ
There is a public 24 hour pay & display car park next to the theatre and charges apply 7 days per week. In the evening (after 6pm) the car parks do operate an evening ticket: please be sure to check the signs at each car park.
