About the event
Get ready for far too much lycra, never-before-heard original songs, and a backstage tale you’ll never forget. CAT The Play follows Dave The Cat – once destined for stardom in Cats, now telling his darkly comic story of betrayal, humiliation, and showbiz survival. From Jesus’s Donkey to a shock sacking minutes before opening night, Dave’s career never recovered… but his claws are still out.
After sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe, smash hits in the UK, Ireland and Germany, and a West End debut at the Ambassador’s Theatre, this cult comedy from Richard Kieswick & Jamie Beamish finally pounces onto the Blakehay stage.
“An absolute riot! …I actually thought I was going to hyperventilate, just remembering it makes me laugh. It was so funny. Far too wonderful.”Elaine Paige (Musical Theatre Legend), BBC Radio 2
“An amazing piece of theatre!! ..that enthralled and fascinated, entertained and horrified in equal measure .. The pace is so intense that you get sucked in as the narrative pounds along; fooled by the entertaining stories, the anecdotes, the gags, the irreverent songs until there’s no escape.”Waterford News & Star
