About the event
"I'm your biggest fan, I haven't heard anything so exciting and original since Amy Winehouse" SEAL 2026
Rosie Frater-Taylor is a virtuoso guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter of remarkable emotional depth. Her singular sound effortlessly fuses jazz-rock, alt-pop, neo-soul, and folk. Her current album, Featherweight, draws on the legacy of luminaries Joni Mitchell and Steely Dan while channelling modern influences such as John Mayer, St. Vincent and Madison Cunningham.
Album Featherweight earned widespread critical acclaim and is superstar SEAL’s album of the year and is garnering a litany of "real music" fans at home and in Europe, plus recognition from US radio KCRW ("Track of the Week"), BBC Radio 1, Jazz FM, MOJO, Hi-Fi, and Guitar World.
Following a standout performance at the Gibson Garage launch, Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page praised her exceptional “connection with the guitar.” She’s also been featured on Quincy Jones’ Qwest TV and Spotify’s 'Best of Jazz UK 2025' playlist. Frater-Taylor began drumming at eight, wrote her first song by ten, and was performing her own material live in London by fourteen. While studying at the Royal Academy of Music, she produced and released critically acclaimed sophomore album, Bloom (2021), which earned over 5M streams and a Gilles Peterson Worldwide Awards nomination. Now a rising voice in a new generation of singer-songwriters, she has toured extensively, playing major venues like the Barbican and festivals such as We Out Here, sharing stages with artists like Madison Cunningham and John Scofield.
